April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. More than five children die as a result of abuse or neglect every day. In addition, an average of 3.3 million child abuse reports are made annually. The development of safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments between children, their parents, and child care providers is essential to preventing child abuse. Research shows that parents and child care providers, who have resources and support are more likely to provide safe and healthy environments for children.
